Oakwood is a small Hall County city — about 4,822 residents per the 2020 census — situated along I-985 between Gainesville to the north and Flowery Branch/Buford to the south. The New Georgia Encyclopedia describes it as 'a gateway on the busy pathway to Road Atlanta and Château Élan,' which captures its role as a transit and service hub for the South Hall corridor. The University of North Georgia's Gainesville Campus is in the immediate area, and the city has grown alongside the educational and medical economy of greater Gainesville.
Oakwood housing breaks roughly into two submarkets: established homes in the older parts of town near the historic downtown and along Mundy Mill Road, plus newer subdivisions that have grown alongside Gainesville's expansion. Most homes are 1,800–3,200 square feet — affordable family housing that represents a meaningful chunk of our Hall County volume. Standard architectural shingle replacement is the most common project type here.
